Introductory SCUBA Tours

Perhaps you want to learn how to dive, but haven’t had the time to sign up for a full certification course. Maybe you would just simply like to jump in and see what things are like down below

Either way, the Discover Scuba Diving program is the perfect way to take that first step toward underwater exploration. Filled with majestic kelp and schooling fish your first breath underwater will definitely be one to remember.

Just like certified divers, people interested in the discover scuba experience get to choose whether to go from the shore at the Avalon Underwater Dive Park or off of the King Neptune dive boat.

Introductory SCUBA Shore Dive: $115.00*

Reservations are available from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. everyday. Though walk-ins are welcomed, reservations are preferred and ensure you will get to do exactly what you want, when you want.

All of the necessary equipment as well as transportation are included in the price of the dive. Typically, the experience takes about three hours. Participants first watch a video and go through a series of briefings with their instructor. After that, you hit the water. The time you spend below is totally dependent on how quickly the individual breathes through their tank of air. Usually, guests spend 15 – 45 minutes below the surface.

Introductory SCUBA Boat Dive: $182.00*

If you choose to do so you can get out of the dive park and explore one of the many other sites around beautiful Santa Catalina Island. There is no better way to experience Catalina than aboard the luxurious and spacious King Neptune dive boat. With 56 miles of coastline and more than 150 dive sites, the possibilities are endless.

Aboard the boat, certified divers will be diving three times at three different sites. Introductory divers get to choose one of the three sites and snorkel or kayak at the other two if they choose.

As with the shore program, all of the necessary gear is provided in addition to breakfast, lunch and a light snack at the end of the day.

Check-in is at 8:15 a.m. daily with charter departure at 9 a.m. Trips typically return between 3 and 5 p.m.
